Though we try our best to build NextGEN Gallery to be fully compatible with all types of server environments, there are a handful of common errors that can sometimes occur due to an incompatible server that may have some strict or insufficient permissions and settings.

COMMON ERRORS

• Unable to create gallery - make sure that your server has 755 permissions set on /wp-content directory.  If your hosting environment requires higher than 755, you risk being vulnerable to hackers. This is a sign of a less supportive web host for WordPress. You should NEVER have to go as high as 777.
• Unable to upload images - make sure that your server has sufficient permissions set for the /wp-content directory. Other server settings to check are: memory allowed in php.ini file set to 250MB, and upload limit set to 30MB or higher.
