At the time I'm posting this, NextGEN Gallery only allows for 1 lightbox to be used at any given time.

That makes it difficult to demo each lightbox individually.

So I decided to capture screenshots (below) of each lightbox built-in to NextGEN Gallery and NextGEN Pro.

I also recorded a video demonstration.

Below are screenshots of each ligthbox.

What's really neat about the Pro Lightbox is that since NextGEN Pro version 1.0.10, the Pro Lightbox can be customized.  You have control over the colors of the carousel, icons/buttons, background, and comment slider.  There are also now 3 built-in presets.  The default which you see above, all black and all white.

You can see the default Pro Lightbox in action on our NextGEN Pro demo page.

Thank you,

Scott

  1. How do i manage comments in the Pro lightbox?I have been testing it and adding comments and now i want to delete them?

    1. The Pro Lightbox uses the default WordPress commenting system. So you would manage comments the same way you would manage any blog post’s comments.

  2. Hi Scott,
when using the Pro Lightbox, is there any way to show the carousel and the play/info/shopping cart icons anywhere else apart from the bottom left corner?
    Thanks!

  3. Hi,

Can I make my gallery have a flip box effect out of the box or with a plug-in

  4. can you make it so the nextgen photos are downloadable to my clients with a simple download button- not going through the eCommerce process. all my photos are free, so i dont need them to go through the process of them getting emailed to them. just a simple button please.
    thanks!

  5. When you exit the Pro Lightbox on my site the page returns to the top (of the page) rather than to the area of the page that was being viewed, eg halfway down the gallery. This means having to scroll down every time to get back to where you were. Can I change this across my site wherever I use NextGen Gallery?

    1. This bug was fixed in our update last week. I suggest updating and if you are still experiencing the issue please contact support so they can see what’s going on.

  6. Are there any plans to allow individual galleries to have their own lightboxes in the future?
