Many WordPress themes and plugins use something called Featured Images. These are commonly used with blog post excerpts. But many plugins utilize them for social media sharing.
Quite often we are quick to add an image as a Featured Image because we "don't have time" or "don't care" or "don't understand it" or any other excuse we can come up with.
But there are also those who like taking their time to create a Featured Image for every post or page created.
Anyone in that group might enjoy the Featured Image Optimization plugin for WordPress. What the plugin does is allow you to select more than one Featured Image. The plugin will then run A/B testing (also known as split testing) to determine which Featured Image has a better impact on the post or page.
The plugin does not automate (currently) which image wins the A/B test. It will, however, give you stats on which image attracts more attention.
You can then select a winner and make that Featured Image display permanently.
