Announcing New NextGEN Gallery Gutenberg Beta!

We’re happy to share our next big beta with you!

We are finalizing our NextGEN Gallery Block for the upcoming new block editor in WordPress 5.0, currently codenamed Gutenberg. The new editor is slated for release on November 27, 2018.

Gutenberg is an entirely new way to create posts and pages in WordPress. Instead of a Word type editor, you will be working with blocks of content which you can organize however you see fit.

There are countless reasons why the new editor is a big achievement for WordPress.  In addition to making content creation easier, the new editor unlocks amazing design potential for WordPress developers and users. The use of blocks means that the WordPress editor will become more and more like today’s page builders.

Also, widgets, as you know them today, will be replaced by Blocks. Which means that eventually, the NextGEN Gallery Block will work in any widget area, and in any plugin that accepts Blocks/Widgets. For example, there is potential for instant support within Elementor, Beaver Builder and more.

Below is a video showing how to use the new block. You can download the beta from the NextGEN Gallery Beta page and give it a try.

Feel free to submit Block feedback as you have it, or Block bugs if you find any.

We can't wait to see the new feature out there!
