Coupon codes will provide the added benefit of offering your customers a discount for your products or prints. You can apply a percentage off (i.e., 25%) or a flat rate off (i.e., $5.00). Your customers must apply the coupon code from the specified field at the checkout screen.
Everything to do with coupons is on a single screen: Imagely > eCommerce. Its tab bar reads General Info | Orders | Proofing | Pricelists | Coupons | Other Options. You create and list your codes on the Coupons tab, turn the checkout field on from the Other Options tab, and see which order used which code in the Coupon column on the Orders tab.
To enable coupons go to Imagely > eCommerce > Other Options, find the Hide coupons on checkout option and make sure it is turned off.
Note: To start using the Coupons feature, you will need a NextGEN Pro license or higher.
Navigate to Imagely > eCommerce > Coupons in your WordPress dashboard. On this screen, select Add New Coupon:
This opens the Create New Coupon window. Next, we’ll need to fill in coupon details. Here is a list of fields available to help create the coupon code:
Once you’ve finished setting up your coupon code, click the Create Code button to save the coupon.
Your coupon then appears in the list on the Coupons tab, with the columns Coupon Name | Times Used | Date | Status | Action. Use the All, Current, Upcoming and Completed filters above the list, along with the All Dates filter, to check whether a coupon with a start date is live yet, or whether one has already finished. The Times Used column tells you how many times a code has been redeemed, which is how you check a coupon against its usage limit. If you have not created any codes yet, the list reads “No Coupons so far!”.
At checkout, the user will insert their coupon code. In this example, the coupon code is 50%, which will apply a 50% discount to the order. Here is an example of a coupon successfully applied:
If a user adds a coupon code with a typo or an old expired coupon, an error message will appear saying “invalid coupon”:
That’s it! Now you’re all set to start providing discounts to your customers!
