Ecommerce Settings

While setting up your Imagely Pro you will need to set up some options under Imagely > eCommerce. That page has a navigation sidebar down the left-hand side:

General Info | Orders | Proofing | Pricelists | Coupons | Other Options

The General Info tab is the guided setup, headed “E-commerce Store Setup”. Two progress cards sit in that same sidebar, below the navigation links: “Ecommerce Setup – n/4 steps completed – Complete Now” and “Automated Print Fulfillment – n/1 steps completed – Complete Now“, together with an overall percentage ring and a “Complete your Ecommerce Setup / View Pending” link. Clicking “Complete Now” takes you to whichever step is still unfinished.

OTHER OPTIONS

Imagely > eCommerce > Other Options. Shipping, sales tax, cart storage and coupon visibility are on this tab, not in the General Info wizard.

Settings page with left navigation menu (General Info, Orders, Proofing, Pricelists, Coupons, Other Options) and a main panel labeled 'Other-options' showing shipping and privacy settings. Includes dropdowns for Domestic shipping: Flat Rate and a fee, International shipping: Disabled, and a Disabled option for International shipping for manual-fulfilled items, plus three toggle switches: Enable sales tax, Use cookies for cart storage, Hide coupons on checkout.

  • Domestic shipping for manual-fulfilled items: sets how shipping is charged on items you fulfill yourself, for example ‘Flat Rate’. Items fulfilled by the print lab are not priced here.
  • Domestic shipping rate ($): the amount charged for the option above.
  • Allow International shipping for manual-fulfilled items: ‘Disabled’ by default. Turn it on if you ship your own items outside your country.

NextGEN Pro 4.4.0 added EU and UK shipping across 28 countries for every print category. At checkout the option is labelled “International Shipping”, and a notice tells the buyer that import duties are their responsibility.

  • Enable sales tax is a flat rate that will apply for everyone regardless of their location (optional). We use an API from taxjar that will calculate the total tax from your studio zip code and the customer’s zip code. You must have your studio information filled. More information on taxes here: https://www.imagely.com/docs/intro-to-sales-tax/

  • Use cookies for cart storage: Cookies are adequate for most customers but can only hold a limited number (around 30) of products due to browser limitations. When disabled the browser localStorage API will be used which does not have this limited number of products in your shopping cart; but cart contents will be different on ‘example.com’ vs ‘www.example.com’ as well as across HTTP/HTTPS.

  • Hide coupons on checkout: when turned on will hide the option to insert a coupon at checkout.

WordPress admin dashboard showing Imagely menu and an E-commerce Store Setup screen with Payment Setup active on the right panel.

You have 7 payment options for checkout, listed in this order:

  1. Testing Gateway.
  2. Checks.
  3. PayPal Express Checkout (deprecated).
  4. PayPal Standard (deprecated).
  5. Stripe.
  6. PayPal Checkout.
  7. Braintree.

Note: PayPal Express Checkout and PayPal Standard are deprecated.

PayPal Checkout

Paypal offers multiple ways to link to Paypal for checkout. Historically, NextGEN Pro has offered Paypal Standard and Paypal Express Checkout. While we still offer these, Paypal is slowly phasing them out, and replacing them with Paypal Checkout. This article will show you how to set up Paypal Checkout as your payment gateway: https://www.imagely.com/docs/how-to-setup-paypal-checkout/

Stripe

For Stripe you’ll need a public key and a private key. More information on stripe setup can be found on their website here, including signup instructions: Stripe – Getting Started where ou can grab your Stripe API Key. Stripe does not provide a sandbox option within our settings. If you want to test the checkout process you will need to set this up manually following the instructions on their website: Stripe-Testing.

Check if Stripe is available in your country: https://stripe.com/global

Testing Gateway

Enables a gateway that does not collect payments and sends users directly to their order confirmation (just for testing, please, disable this method on live sites).

Checks

If you would like to offer an option to pay and pick up in store, pay by check would be a great option to offer.

Braintree

Braintree is still available and is switched on with the “Enable Braintree” toggle.

PRINTLAB INTEGRATION

Imagely > eCommerce > General Info > PrintLab Integration – “Configure integration with PrintLab for professional print fulfillment.”

If you wish to process lab fulfilled orders, you must provide a credit card that that will be billed for the cost of goods for orders fulfilled by the print lab. When a customer purchases a print, the cost of prints will be immediately charged to this credit card and the order submitted to PrintLab to be fulfilled.

You should include your credit card information, expiration date, and CVC number (on the back of your card). After you have completed that information, click on the button “Update credit card”.

Note: you can also remove and re-insert a new card in case your card has expired.

Below the button, an FAQ block answers the questions “Do I need this?”, “Will you charge me?” and “Is this secure?”. As it explains there, the card details are sent to Stripe and stored at Stripe – not by WordPress or Imagely.

After you have entered a card, watch the resulting submissions on the
Orders tab described below.

Dashboard layout with left navigation and main content titled 'E-commerce Store Setup'; the 'PrintLab Integration' tab is active with status icons and a green success banner reading 'Done! You have a valid credit card on file' and a red 'Remove card' button.

ORDERS

Imagely > eCommerce > Orders. The list is headed “Orders” and can be narrowed with the “All Dates” and “All Order Statuses” filters. Columns: ID | Date | Customer | Order Status | Payment Gateway | Coupon | Total.

Each order also shows its print lab status and its print cost, and offers Resubmit to lab when a submission to the lab failed.

PRICELISTS

Imagely > eCommerce > Pricelists. Filter by “All Dates”. Columns: Pricelist Name | Date | Action, with the row actions “Duplicate” and “Delete”.

The Add New Pricelist button opens a modal titled “Add New Pricelist” with a single field, “New Pricelist Name”, and the buttons “Cancel” / “Create Pricelist”.

Clicking a pricelist name opens the pricelist editor, headed “Pricelist”, with the buttons “Bulk Markup” and “Add New Product” and one tab per product category: Prints | Canvas | Mounted Prints | Metal Prints | Acrylic Prints | Wood Prints | Bamboo Panels | Digital Download. Each item table has the columns Product Name | Cost | Price.

To use a pricelist on a gallery, go to Imagely > Galleries, click the gallery title, open step 03 Settings, and under eCommerce Settings turn on Enable eCommerce and choose your Pricelist.

COUPONS

Imagely > eCommerce > Coupons. Filter by status with All | Current | Upcoming | Completed, and by date with “All Dates”. The Add New Coupon button creates one. Columns: Coupon Name | Times Used | Date | Status | Action.

PROOFING

Proofing allows your clients to select which images they’d like you to process and set up for ordering.

Imagely > eCommerce > Proofing is the list of requests your clients have submitted, not a settings panel. It is headed “Proofing” and has the columns Title | Date | Name | Email | Actions, with the row action “View Request”. Rows read like “Proof request by [email protected] (2 images)”.

You turn proofing on one gallery at a time: go to Imagely > Galleries, click the gallery title, open step 02 Customize, and under “Customize Gallery Look” switch on Enable proofing.
