Testing the Printlab Payment Gateway

A real purchase charges the card you stored under PrintLab Integration and sends a real order to the print lab. There are two ways to test without that happening.

Option 1 – Stripe test mode (recommended)

This runs your actual checkout end to end, so you see exactly what a buyer sees.

1. Go to Imagely > eCommerce > General Info > Payment Setup.

2. On the Stripe card, turn Test mode on, then click Connect with Stripe and connect a Stripe test account.

3. Place an order on your site using a Stripe test card.

Nothing is charged, and any print-lab order the test creates goes to the lab’s test service instead of production, so nothing is printed or shipped.

When you are ready to sell for real, disconnect the test account, switch Test mode off, and connect your live Stripe account. Test mode cannot be changed while an account is connected.

Option 2 – the Testing Gateway

The Testing Gateway completes an order without collecting any money and sends the buyer straight to the order confirmation. Use it when you want to check your pages, e-mails and order flow rather than the payment itself.

1. Go to Imagely > eCommerce > General Info > Payment Setup.

2. Scroll to the bottom and expand Advanced.

3. Switch on Testing Gateway.

It is marked “Developer use only. Do not enable on a live site.” – switch it back off when you are finished.

Heads up! If neither of these is active, a purchase charges your card on file and sends a real order to the print lab.

Heads up! If you don’t have the Testing Gateway enabled, then this will actually charge your card on file from Imagely’s eCommerce settings then it will send the real order to WHCC.
