New: Your Instagram Photos Now Sync Straight to Your Gallery

You posted your favorite shot from this weekend’s session to Instagram an hour ago. It’s already cropped, captioned, and sitting right there on your phone. Getting it onto your actual portfolio site used to mean finding the original file, uploading it again, and doing that all over for every photo after it. Not anymore.

Instagram Galleries: Your Feed, Right on Your Site

Connect your Instagram account and Imagely builds a gallery straight from what’s already posted. No re-downloading, no re-uploading, no keeping two versions of your work in sync.

Setting Up Your Instagram Gallery

First, make sure you’re running NextGEN Gallery 4.3.0, and NextGEN Pro 4.3.0 too if it’s active on your site. That’s the version this ships in.

Head to Settings → Integrations. If Instagram isn’t listed there yet, check the Features tab first, where Instagram has its own toggle to activate. Imagely keeps advanced features tucked away until you switch them on, so this is a common first stop.

Once Integrations is on, connect your Instagram account right from that same screen, through the standard login flow you’d use anywhere else.

Click Configure on that same panel to set how the gallery should look before you ever create one: which account to pull from, how many photos to show, the image size that fits your layout, whether captions show and how long they run, and whether Imagely caches the data. Every setting updates live, so you can fine-tune it in advance instead of guessing.

With that done, creating the gallery itself is the easy part. Start a new gallery and choose Instagram as the source, right alongside Media Library, TikTok, Dribbble, and Google Photos. It’ll use the account and settings you already configured.

Both single photos and carousel posts come through correctly, so a multi-image post from your feed appears in your gallery exactly as it did on Instagram. Here’s the same account, side by side: what’s actually on Instagram, and what shows up on the site a moment later.

Keeping Your Accounts Under Control

If you ever need to disconnect an account, Imagely removes exactly what belongs to it: that account’s gallery, its images, and its access token, without touching any other connected account.

Want to start fresh entirely? One option clears every Instagram account, gallery, and cached image in a single step.

Good to Know Before You Connect

Instagram Galleries support up to three connected accounts and are available on Pro plans and above. You’ll need Instagram app credentials configured in your settings before connecting, and video posts aren’t supported in this first release, though your photos come through beautifully.

This update also brings dozens of smaller delight and bug fix improvements throughout the plugin, all working quietly in the background to make the day-to-day experience feel a little smoother.

Get Started with Instagram Galleries Today

Find it under Add New in your gallery admin, right alongside your other sources. If you’re on a Plus plan or the free version, upgrading to Pro adds Instagram Galleries along with Lightroom sync, client proofing, and the rest of the Pro toolkit.

Bring Your Instagram Feed to Your Gallery
